24/08/2011 : The full LIPPfest Program is announced! On top of the great readings and workshops already publicised there are readings from Leeds Trinity University, the winners of the LIPPfest poetry competition and a display from Artlink. There will also be some great debating from The Leeds Salon, as well as talks and workshops on publishing, Geoffrey Hill, Robert Graves, and the voice of the Irish immigrant in poetry. There is also a quick reference guide to the day which you can download here.
22/09/2011 : The University of Leeds Alumni Reading at the Brotherton Room Special Collections Leeds University Library. This is a reading to celebrate Leeds University's relationship with poetry over the years featuring displays from Special Collection's holdings and readings from students and staff, both past and present, including Ian Duhig, John Whale, Ian Parks, David Tait, and Adam Lowe. For your free tickets email voices@live.co.uk but hurry as the numbers are limited. From 5:30pm for a 6pm start and finishes at 7:30pm.
24/09/2011 : The Leeds Independent Presses Poetry Festival (LIPPfest) 2011 kicks off on September 24th at the Carriageworks Theatre Leeds with a programme of readings from twenty-five poets, six workshops, symposiums and publishing talks. An independent presses bookfair will give people the chance to browse and purchase literature from a range of literature not stocked on the shelves of your average bookshop.
